Investigating Delightful Rug Pads

With the addition of a rug pad, that friction and wear and tear is slowed down, thus extending the life of your rug. Obviously this is like rug pads. Of course, if the rug pad is left out, or a low quality option is used, you are going to notice this as well; just not in the same way. But, ask yourself this, if you purchased a new car, would you skip the oil changes? Of course not, as everyone knows, changing your oil prolongs the life of your engine and helps you get the most out of your car.

After all, most people purchase area rugs so they don’t have to walk on the hard floor. Over time, dirt drops down between the holes to lie underneath your rug. But has little, or nothing, to do with area rug pads usually. There are three reasons that using a quality rug pad is important.

It’s much easier to pull up an area rug and rug pad to clean up spills than wall-to-wall. A rug pad helps your rug “stick” to the floor, keeping it in place, and making it safer for everyone. This is similar to Oriental rug pads frequently. In addition to the durability that a rug pad will add, you should also consider that it will make the job look better as well.

Rug pads are engineered to be odor, mold and mildew proof. I hope you are now convinced that a rug pad is a good idea. This may only be a thin layer of protection, but you will definitely be able to notice the difference when you are walking in your bare or sock feet.

The adhesive helps secure the rugs in place and the rug pads help to prevent rugs from slipping and causing trips and falls. You don’t want the rug pad to show, so it should be cut to be at least 1/2″ smaller all the way around. It is better to be safe than sorry. The benefits of rug pads far exceed the inexpensive price of acquiring them as they are very affordable.
